Paper Description
Organisations are complex entities which can be understood in myriad ways. Effective leaders of organisations must understand the different aspects that constitute an organisation, and be able to apply different theories and strategies to maximise the output of each organisation. Additionally, effective leaders must know themselves and their leadership philosophy, to be able to motivate change in a complex world.
This course will challenge you as a manager and shape your perspective on a range of organisation issues. Though exploring theories of organisational behaviour, and leadership philosophies, this paper will enrich your ideas and the approaches you bring to your work. This course includes the history of organisational theory and behaviours, organisational communication, power and politics, conflict and negotiation, managing change, and organisational design and structure - before engaging in a highly self-reflective examination and renovation of each student's leadership philosophy
